I’ve been behind the camera since 2001 and shot more than 2,000 scenes, and I can tell you the costume that works hardest is the one that covers the least and still tells a story. Valentina Sampaio walked into Heidi Klum’s Halloween party in New York as Poison Ivy: green lace, green stockings, a waist-length red mane and a crown of leaves. That’s the whole outfit. And it was more than enough.

Valentina Sampaio’s Halloween costume in 2026 was Poison Ivy, the Batman villain who kills with a kiss. The Brazilian model wore it on the carpet at Heidi Klum’s 25th annual Halloween party at Cathédrale in New York City on Oct. 31, 2026 (Forbes). E! News put her in its party gallery with one line: “You’ll be green with envy over the model’s Poison Ivy look.” The carpet photos are by Noam Galai for Getty Images for Heidi Klum, and Page Six ran the night in its own gallery.

Poison Ivy, piece by piece

• The bodysuit: emerald-green lace with a corset top, cut high on the hip. The back is a thong, and yes, there’s a back shot in the carpet sets. That’s the frame everybody is reposting.
• The stockings: green lace-top thigh-highs in the same shade, so from hip to ankle she’s one long green line.
• The hair: a crimped copper-red mane that falls past her waist. Ivy’s red hair is the whole character, and she went all the way down.
• The face: a green leaf mask across the eyes and a crown of orange and red autumn leaves and flowers. Villain, but make it October.
• The shoes: red patent pumps. The only red below the neck, and it pulls your eyes straight down the legs.

Nico’s take: Poison Ivy is a skin costume with leaves on

One more thing from my side of the camera. Green is the hardest color on a blue carpet. It goes flat, it goes sickly, it fights the backdrop. Lace saves it, because lace lets skin through, and skin is warm. That’s why the full-length frames work: green lace, warm skin, red hair, red shoes. Four colors, and every one of them is doing a job.

Who is Valentina Sampaio?

Valentina Sampaio was born on Dec. 10, 1996, in Aquiraz, in the Brazilian state of Ceará, which makes her 29 (Wikipedia). She has a list of firsts most models never get near. In August 2019 she became Victoria’s Secret’s first openly transgender model, shooting for VS PINK. In 2020 she became the first openly trans model in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, shot by Josie Clough on Scrub Island in the British Virgin Islands, and SI brought her back in 2021 for a Ben Watts shoot in Hollywood, Florida (SI Swimsuit).

On Oct. 15, 2024, she and Alex Consani became the first two trans women to walk the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Valentina wore shimmering black lingerie with giant black bows on her back (NBC News), and told People it was “a moment I will cherish for a lifetime” (People). In September 2026 she walked New York Fashion Week for Conner Ives, Luar and Collina Strada (FashionDB).

So when she puts on lingerie for Halloween, she isn’t playing dress-up. She’s doing her day job in a different color.
