I’ve been behind the camera since 2001 and shot more than 2,000 scenes, and I’ll tell you the hardest thing to fake on set: a kiss. Laura Abla just faked two of them, in a black corset, on Heidi Klum’s carpet, with two dolls, and the photo still racked up 1.5 million views on X.

Laura Abla’s Halloween costume in 2026 was Madonna at the 2003 MTV VMAs, the night she kissed Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera on stage. The German influencer and model wore it to Heidi Klum’s 25th annual Halloween party in New York on Oct. 31, 2026 (Glamsham). Vogue Germany reports she wore a black top, black trousers, arm warmers and a bustier, with prosthetics on her nose and chin to reshape her face into Madonna’s. And the twist: “Britney” and “Christina” were not people. They were two half-mannequin dolls in matching white lace looks, even with similar jewelry, fixed to a rod rig so she could kiss one, then the other, just like 2003 (Vogue Germany, Metro).

On the carpet photos the look is all Madonna in groom mode: a sheer black long-sleeve top under a laced black corset, black fingerless gauntlets, black skinny trousers tucked into black thigh-high boots, short blonde hair and a silver necklace. The two “brides” hang off her shoulders in white tops and shredded lace skirts, one blonde, one with long black hair, and she leans in with her lips on each one in turn. The Madonna costume, piece by piece

• The legs: black trousers and black thigh-high boots, the whole bottom half in one long black line.
• The face: prosthetics on the nose, chin and more to make her look like Madonna in 2003, under short blonde hair.
• The “brides”: two half-mannequin dolls of Britney and Christina in white lace, mounted on a rod rig so she can turn and kiss each one.

Nico’s take: she kissed two dolls and stole the party

One more thing from my side of the camera. In 2003 the shot everybody remembers is a half-second on live TV. Laura gave the photographers a pose they could hold: lean left, kiss, lean right, kiss, chin up for the wide shot. Dolls don’t blink, don’t laugh and never ruin a take. If you want your kiss to be the picture of the night, that’s actually the smartest casting choice in New York.

On Aug. 28, 2003, at Radio City Music Hall, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera opened the MTV Video Music Awards in white bridal looks singing “Like a Virgin,” and Madonna joined them as the groom in black. One reply under the 21metgala post, with more than 300 likes, said: “I have no idea who Laura Abla is but I now stan her for life.” Another fan asked if this was “Laura Abla the wag? as in dani olmo’s girlfriend?” Spanish-speaking X called her “un icono” and said she won Halloween, and Glamsham quoted one fan calling it the “most postmodern costume of the post-MTV era.”
