I’ve been behind the camera since 2001 and shot more than 2,000 scenes, and the oldest rule on set still works: put a brunette and a redhead in the same frame and you don’t need a script. For Halloween 2026, Camila Mendes and Madelaine Petsch went back to the Stone Age as Betty Rubble and Wilma Flintstone, in torn-hem cave-girl minis, giant pearls and bare feet. Bedrock was never this hot.

Camila Mendes and Madelaine Petsch’s Halloween costume in 2026 was Betty and Wilma from The Flintstones. The former Riverdale co-stars revealed the duo look on Oct. 31, and The Hollywood Reporter name-checked it first in the intro of its 2026 celebrity costume roundup (The Hollywood Reporter). Petsch is Wilma: a fitted white one-shoulder mini with a jagged zigzag hem, an oversized pearl necklace and her red hair piled into a high curly updo. Mendes is Betty: a blue mini with cut-out hems, a dark bob, a little blue bow and her own pearls (ComicBasics).

It wasn’t a party snap, it was a full photo shoot by celebrity photographer Amber Asaly, opened with a cartoon-style “Wilma & Betty” title card (ComicBasics, Gossip Herald). On the joint Instagram post the caption was “The Real Housewives of Bedrock” (t2 Online). On X, Pop Crave‘s post of the photos passed 256,000 views and almost 9,000 likes in its first day.

• Madelaine as Wilma: a white one-shoulder mini that hugs everything, a zigzag “animal skin” hem cut high on the thigh, pearls the size of golf balls and that red hair stacked up in ringlets. She was born for this one (ComicBasics).
• Camila as Betty: a short blue mini with cut-out hems, a sleek dark bob, a small blue bow and pearls. Cleaner and simpler than Wilma, and somehow even more dangerous (ComicBasics).
• The poses: one frame has Camila stretched out across the floor with Madelaine perched behind her, another has them on their knees holding martini glasses, another sits them barefoot on stone stools in a Bedrock living room, and the last ones are tight, laughing close-ups. A feet account on X reposted the set within the hour. Of course it did.
• The caption: “The Real Housewives of Bedrock” (t2 Online). Remember that line, because it’s the best joke in the whole post.

One more thing from my side of the camera. Cartoon costumes usually die on real bodies, because the cartoon is flat and the girl isn’t. Asaly fixed that with a clean white backdrop, a cheesy title card and real Bedrock furniture, so the only thing in the frame with curves is the cast. That’s not a Halloween photo. That’s a campaign.

Seven Halloweens: the Riverdale girls’ costume tradition

Mendes and Petsch, often with Lili Reinhart, have turned Halloween into an annual event, and fans rank every new look against the old ones (ComicBasics, Gossip Herald):

• 2020: The Powerpuff Girls, as a trio with Reinhart.
• 2021: Scooby-Doo: Mendes as Velma, Petsch as Daphne.
• 2022: Hocus Pocus: the Sanderson sisters, Petsch as Winifred and Mendes as Mary.
• 2023: DC’s Gotham City Sirens: Mendes as Catwoman, Petsch as Poison Ivy, Reinhart as Harley Quinn.

The trick is always the hair: a blonde, a brunette and a redhead slot neatly into any famous trio. This year it’s just the brunette and the redhead, and Betty and Wilma might be the most natural fit they’ve ever had.

The men behind Betty and Wilma

Camila and Rudy Mancuso. They met making the 2024 rom-com Música, which he directed and starred in with her, and have dated since July 2022. He proposed on Oct. 24, 2025, at a surprise party she thought was a friend’s birthday (E! News, People). In June 2026, while promoting Masters of the Universe, she said they have a venue but no date and are “not in a rush” (People). So this Halloween is roughly their first engagement anniversary, and she spent it as a cartoon wife.

Madelaine and Tyga. They were first photographed together at a Lakers game in February 2025 and went Instagram official at Coachella that April. In June 2026 she posted a photo with a large diamond on her left ring finger, which set off engagement rumors; neither of them has announced anything. In August, Camila posted a video of Tyga serenading Madelaine at her 32nd birthday, and in October Madelaine told Cosmo’s Blind Date she is “in a relationship” (Cosmopolitan). In September a source told People the couple were “going strong” (Just Jared). Tyga did his own Halloween this year as a Martian from Mars Attacks! and as Count Orlok from Nosferatu (The Hollywood Reporter).

Confirmed: the costume is real and from Halloween 2026. Mendes and Petsch posted the photos themselves on Oct. 31, shot by Amber Asaly, and The Hollywood Reporter, ComicBasics, Gossip Herald and t2 Online all covered it. Not confirmed: whether Petsch and Tyga are engaged; neither has said so. Why Lili Reinhart skipped this year hasn’t been reported. Got it wrong: a few copy-paste sites online swapped the roles; Petsch is Wilma (the redhead in white) and Mendes is Betty (the brunette in blue). My read, not theirs: the “status update” and “read that caption twice” lines are my opinion.
