I’ve been behind the camera since 2001 and shot more than 2,000 scenes, and the scariest audio cue I know isn’t a jump scare. It’s a name called from empty grass.

Cida Moraes, the Big Brother Brasil 2 housemate, is viral again on a Persian-language X post retelling the June 2002 night she heard her sister calling from the garden — about 45 minutes after her sister Glória had died of cancer, while Cida was still quarantined in the house. Brazilian outlets archived the story the same day in 2002, and Cida has retold it in later interviews (UOL 2002, Exame, KHOROUS_).

What happened in the BBB house

On June 3, 2002, Cida was sunbathing when she heard someone call her name. Housemate Thaís claimed it was her; Cida said the voice sounded like her sister. Production later told her Glória had died that day. Presenter Pedro Bial said the voice moment was about 45 minutes after the death. Cida chose to stay in the house and finished third (Exame).
