Emily Meade Nude Scenes: The Deuce, Trial by Fire and Every Clip

Yes, Emily Meade has done nude scenes, and plenty of them. Most are from HBO’s The Deuce (2017–2019), where she plays Lori Madison and goes topless in all three seasons. She also has steamy scenes in Trial by Fire (2018) and Mother, May I Sleep with Danger? (2016).

This hub collects all 12 of her clips worth watching, each with its length and its own write-up: ten Lori scenes from The Deuce, from her first night with C.C. to the pool shoots and strip clubs of season three, plus the bedroom scene with Jack O’Connell in Trial by Fire and the woodland love scene with Leila George. The hero clip above is Lori’s topless morning from season one.

Updated: November 5, 2026 (Bangkok). New hub: every clip encoded and written up from scratch.

I’ve been behind the camera since 2001 and shot 2,000+ scenes, so a show about the people who made adult films in 1970s New York was always going to get my attention. What surprised me was Emily Meade. Her Lori Madison is the most believable performer I have seen on a TV set: the nerves, the swagger, the way she treats the camera like a customer. Here is every scene worth your time.

Emily Meade is an American actress, born on January 10, 1989 in New York City. She is best known as Lori Madison in David Simon’s HBO drama The Deuce, and for roles in Money Monster, Nerve, That Awkward Moment, The Leftovers and Boardwalk Empire.

Emily Meade in The Deuce (2017–2019)

Series: The Deuce (HBO), created by David Simon and George Pelecanos, with Maggie Gyllenhaal and James Franco | Role: Lori Madison | What you see: topless and nude scenes across all three seasons, in bed, backstage, on set and on stage

Lori steps off a bus from Minnesota in the first episode and is picked up almost at once by the smooth-talking pimp C.C. (Gary Carr). Over three seasons she works the street, moves into adult films, becomes one of the biggest names in the business and heads to California, and Meade plays every stage of it. David Simon called it one of the best performances he ever got on a show. For the rest of the cast, see our The Deuce sex scenes hub, plus Maggie Gyllenhaal, Margarita Levieva and Olivia Luccardi. Our older Lori compilation post is still up too.

Lori topless in bed the morning after, season 1 episode 2 (1:59)

This is the clip at the top of this page.

The best-lit nude scene she has. Lori sits up in a rumpled hotel bed under a yellow lamp, topless and chatting away, while C.C. pulls on his patterned shirt and gold chain and gets ready to go out and work. He stops to fix her hair, she reaches for a cigarette, and the camera stays on her the whole time. Nearly two minutes of easy, unhurried nudity, and you can already see how completely he has her wrapped around his finger.

Lori and C.C. under the sheets, season 1 episode 2 (3:20)

Her longest scene on the page, at well over three minutes. Lori and C.C. (Gary Carr) are naked under white sheets in a cheap room, then she sits up against the headboard with a cigarette and stays topless while they talk, laugh and lean into each other. It plays like a lazy afternoon rather than a sex scene, which is exactly why it works: this is the honeymoon moment before the street changes everything for her.

Lori in the nurse costume dressing room, season 1 episode 6 (0:57)

One of Lori’s first days on a film set. The dressing room is all bulb mirrors, wigs and half-dressed performers, and Lori, in a little white nurse cap, slips out of her uniform and stands topless at the vanity while a naked co-star strolls straight past the camera. Candy, in her own nurse whites and a name tag, chats with her at the mirror, and Lori just grins. She already looks like she belongs there.

Lori backstage with Candy, season 1 episode 7 (1:09)

Another trip behind the scenes, this time in a black maid’s uniform with a frilly white cap. Lori tugs the top of the dress down and stays topless while she and Candy (Maggie Gyllenhaal) talk about the work at neighbouring mirrors. There is no sex in it at all, just two women who are very good at their jobs comparing notes, and it is one of the most natural moments in the whole first season.

Lori on the red couch during a film shoot, season 1 episode 7 (0:58)

Now the cameras are rolling. Lori lies back on a coral-red velvet couch in her nurse cap with her uniform open, eyes closed, while the crew works around her under a big studio lamp. A mustached producer in a pink shirt paces and barks notes, and an older actress in a teal top stands by the couch with her arms folded, watching like she has seen a hundred of these. Close, warm and all about Lori.

Lori watches her own loop in a peep booth, season 1 episode 7 (0:45)

A clever little scene. Lori walks into a busy adult bookstore and finds a bearded customer pressed up against a peep-booth window, staring hard. What he is watching is her: a short film of Lori in jeans in a living room set lined with bookshelves, unbuttoning her top and covering herself with her hands for the camera. She stands right behind him while he watches. Funny, a little sad, and very The Deuce.

Lori and C.C. in bed, season 2 episode 5 (1:48)

Season two, and Lori has gone platinum blonde and become a name in the business. The room is dark, red and moody. She lies topless on patterned sheets next to C.C., stretches out with her arms behind her head, then gets up and walks naked past the lamp before pulling on a red crop top. Dark in places, but the middle of the clip, with Lori lit by the bedside lamp, is one of her sexiest moments in the series.

Lori changing backstage, season 2 episode 6 (0:43)

A crowded, red-walled backstage room lined with movie posters and bulb lights. Lori, smoking and in an open white top, changes topless next to a redhead in a slinky red gown while men in suits and crew members squeeze through the room around them. Quick and busy, with plenty of side-boob and a couple of clean topless shots in the first twenty seconds.

Lori shooting by the pool in California, season 3 episode 2 (1:13)

Total change of scenery for the final season: blue sky, palm trees and a turquoise pool in the California hills. Lori lies on a lounger in a bikini top for a scene with a co-star in a straw cowboy hat, the boom mic hanging over them, and the top comes off in the middle of the take in bright daylight. A glossy, sunny clip that shows how far Lori has come from the Times Square back rooms.

Lori at the strip club, season 3 (1:18)

It starts at a dressing-room mirror crowded with roses and makeup, where Lori sits topless and smiling, then pulls on a black leather cap and studded gloves for her set. Out on the floor, the club is lit purple and red and packed with men, and she works the stage in black lingerie and heels. Half intimate, half spectacle, and a great look at the hard-edged Lori of season three.

Emily Meade in Trial by Fire (2018)

Film: Trial by Fire, directed by Edward Zwick, with Jack O’Connell and Laura Dern | Role: Stacy Willingham | What you see: lingerie and a bedroom scene

Based on David Grann’s New Yorker article about the Texas death-row case of Cameron Todd Willingham. Meade plays his wife Stacy, and most of her best moments are in the flashbacks to their life before the fire. Fun fact: she had already played Jack O’Connell’s partner two years earlier in Money Monster.

Stacy in the bedroom with Todd (1:26)

A warm, playful scene from a very dark film. In a small Texas bedroom, Stacy changes in front of the mirror in a dark bra and panties, chatting with a friend while she gets ready. Then Todd (Jack O’Connell) comes up behind her, wraps his arms around her and pulls her onto the bed, and the two of them end up laughing and kissing. It is the happiest the Willinghams ever look in the film.

Emily Meade in Mother, May I Sleep with Danger? (2016)

TV film: Mother, May I Sleep with Danger? (Lifetime), directed by Melanie Aitkenhead from a story by James Franco, with Leila George and Tori Spelling | Role: Pearl | What you see: a lesbian love scene in lingerie

James Franco’s remake turned the 1996 Tori Spelling thriller into a lesbian vampire love story. Meade is Pearl, the mysterious newcomer who falls for Leah, and Spelling comes back as Leah’s mother.

Pearl and Leah in the woods at night (1:42)

The love scene from James Franco’s lesbian vampire take on the old Lifetime classic. Pearl and Leah (Leila George) start kissing hard against a tree in the dark, then end up on a blanket on the forest floor, Pearl in a black lace bra, the two of them tangled together in low blue light. Dark and dreamy rather than explicit, but the chemistry between the two leads is the best thing in the movie.

What I Left Out

Not every Lori scene made the cut. The Deuce never looks away from the ugly side of the street, and the violent scenes are not what this page is for, so they are not here. I also skipped clips with no real nudity, very dark scenes where you can barely see anything, low-resolution copies and duplicates. Her early film work is not covered on this page.

NICO’S TAKE
Nico Grey

Here’s my take. Playing a performer is harder than it looks, because you have to act badly on purpose in the film-within-the-show and act brilliantly everywhere else. Meade nails both. Watch the nurse dressing room clip: she is half shy, half thrilled, and you believe every second of it.

The scenes with C.C. are the heart of her story. In the first season they are warm and lazy and almost sweet, which is exactly what makes the rest of the show hit so hard. By season three she has the confidence of someone who owns the room, and you can see it in how she walks across that strip-club stage.

If you only have five minutes, start with the topless morning scene and the pool shoot. Then go back and watch the whole series, because it is one of the best things HBO ever made.
