Rubi Rose went on BenDaDonnn’s stream, got asked about her famous rule that a man has to make $5 million a year to date her, and said “I take it back.” Then he asked for her real number. “At least like five million,” she said, per NDTV. “A year.” The internet did the math.

I’m Nico Grey. I run NicoGrey.com and Scandal Planet, and I’ve been behind the camera since 2001 with more than 2,000 scenes shot. I’ve done a lot of interviews. When someone says “let’s not talk about money” and then talks about money, that’s the clip. Ben knew it too.

What she said on BenDaDonnn’s stream

The pair were catching up when Ben brought up women who won’t talk to a man unless he makes millions. “I never said that. I never said that,” Rubi said, according to NDTV‘s transcript. When he pushed back, she switched: “Oh, you did? But I take it back.”

She tried to close it out with “Let’s not talk about money.” Ben circled back anyway and asked for the minimum, “just so people know.” After a “hopefully, I don’t know,” she gave in: “Okay, okay, like, hopefully, like, at least like five million.” Per year, she confirmed.

DailyLoud ran the first half of that as the headline, that men “no longer need to make $5 Million a year to date her”, and the clip took off on X:

“I take it back” lasted about as long as a Twitch ad. Iconic.

Here’s the thing, darling: she didn’t actually move. She denied saying it, took it back, changed the subject and then landed on the exact same five million. That’s not a U-turn, that’s a lap. And honestly? Knowing your number and sticking to it on a live stream is more commitment than most men in her comments have ever shown.

My take: the rule was never really about the money. It’s the best marketing line she’s ever had, and she knows it.

Where the $5 million rule came from

It first made headlines in April 2025, when Rubi said on Adin Ross’s stream that any man she dates should earn at least $5 million a year, NDTV recalls. She said she wanted a partner on her level. Mundo Deportivo calls Wednesday’s clip a backtrack that ended up “exactly where she started”.

Who is Rubi Rose?

She’s a rapper and model from Kentucky who first went viral in Playboi Carti’s “Magnolia” video, then broke out with her own singles like “Hit Yo Line”. Confirmed vs. my opinion

Confirmed: the quotes from BenDaDonnn’s stream (NDTV, Mundo Deportivo); the April 2025 Adin Ross origin (NDTV).

My read (opinion): the rule is a brand line and she isn’t giving it up.
