Florence Pugh is the face of Jaguar’s new era — and Annie Leibovitz just put her next to the Type 01 like they were two characters in the same frame. On Nov. 5, 2026, Jaguar released Leibovitz’s portrait series of Pugh with the UK-built luxury GT, confirming Pugh as the brand’s inaugural ambassador and sending FilmUpdates’ first post past 139,000 views in hours.

I’ve been behind the camera since 2001 and shot more than 2,000 scenes, so when an actress who already went nude for Nolan gets framed by Leibovitz against a £130,000 electric GT, I watch the light, not the press release. Florence is not doing safe car ads. She is doing image-making.

Jaguar’s own media room called the drop “Fearless Vision”: Leibovitz unites British originals — Type 01 and Florence — in a series that treats the car as a subject, not a prop (Jaguar Media, IOL, Saffarazzi). Marketing director Carlee Hardaker put it bluntly: “Florence Pugh is the face of our new era. Annie Leibovitz is the lens.”

What Annie Leibovitz actually said

Leibovitz did not treat Type 01 as furniture. In the Jaguar release she said she was photographing “two extraordinary and contrasting subjects”: Florence brings “warmth, presence and humanity,” while Type 01 is “sculpted, precise and striking.” She wanted to explore “their relationship as two distinct characters within the frame” (Jaguar Media).

Florence’s own line from the same release: she has always been drawn to people and brands that are “unapologetically original,” and working with Leibovitz on Type 01 felt like a “truly special creative collaboration.”

NICO’S TAKE

"Nico

Here’s what I see. Most brand ambassadors smile next to a car. Florence got Annie Leibovitz, STORIED NYC, and a brief that treats her body language as equal to a grand tourer’s silhouette. That is not a product shot. That is casting.

Jaguar needed a face for a reborn marque and picked the woman who already survived Oppenheimer naked, We Live in Time naked, and East of Eden mean. My take: they did not hire safe. They hired heat with a BAFTA brain.

My bet: these Leibovitz frames become the Florence-still people post for the next year — right next to the Oppenheimer chair. Watch the campaign, then watch her adult scenes on her hub and tell me the casting does not match.

Her hottest scenes are already on her Florence Pugh hub →

Type 01, STORIED NYC, and Frankie Aldino

Type 01’s world premiere landed at STORIED in New York — the space that once housed Leibovitz’s studio. Jaguar also put Frankie Aldino, a Leibovitz mentee she personally recommended, on portraits of attending talent and guests. BTS stills from Kathryn MacLeod sit in Jaguar’s Annie Leibovitz x Florence Pugh BTS pack.

The car itself: designed, engineered and manufactured in the UK on Jaguar Electric Architecture, a luxury four-door GT Jaguar calls the most technologically advanced and powerful in its history. Orders open early 2027 from £130,000 (Jaguar Media).

Florence lately: East of Eden, Klara, Seth Meyers, NYC streets

Before the Jaguar drop she was already everywhere: custom Vivienne Westwood at the East of Eden premiere, floral Rodarte for Klara and the Sun, a sheer black gown on Seth Meyers, burgundy jacket street style in New York, and Patrick McDowell at the Type 01 launch itself.

The other Florence: her hottest scenes

Brand campaigns are one lane. Her adult work is the other. Oppenheimer put her nude on a chair and in bed with the Bhagavad Gita. We Live in Time put her in hotel sheets with Andrew Garfield. Outlaw King put her on a wedding-night bed years earlier. Self-hosted clips below; full set on her hub.

Florence Pugh as Jean Tatlock in Oppenheimer: nude on a chair under hard light while the hearing circles her, body forward, eyes locked, the scene that made half the internet forget the bomb for a minute. Cold room, hotter frame, and still the Florence clip people send first.
