I’ve been told to shut up by four editors, two ex-wives and one bartender in Toledo. None of them put it on a shirt. Lili Reinhart did, and the men who needed to read it most read it hardest.

Lili Reinhart’s viral shirt reads “I support a man’s right to shut the f**k up”. She wore it as a white crop top in Los Angeles on March 26, 2026, promoting Forbidden Fruits. When men online got angry, she told Cosmopolitan UK: “Says a lot more about you than me, pal.”

The photos are back on X and the replies are doing exactly what the shirt predicted.

The shirt, and the outfit around it

White cropped tee, the slogan in red, a black Guizio cardigan and a black Guizio midi skirt, glasses, hair pulled back. It looks like she was on her way to a bookstore. She was actually on her way to promote a horror comedy, which, given the comments section, was on theme.

“Says a lot more about you than me, pal”

Lili told Cosmopolitan UK the incels were mad at her over it, and that the anger said a lot more about them than her. One sentence, case closed. If you got upset at a shirt that politely suggests you be quiet, the shirt was right about you.

Confession: I am exactly the man this shirt is for. I talk at parties. I explain books to people who wrote them. I once explained jazz to a jazz musician. So when I saw it, I laughed, and then I shut up for almost a whole afternoon.

Here’s what I like: she didn’t apologise, she didn’t do a Notes-app statement, she just wore it and then said ‘pal.’ Pal is a devastating word. Pal is what your dad calls the guy who scratched his car.

Lili Reinhart since: CFDA Awards in Monse

She’s not been shutting up either. At the 2026 CFDA Fashion Awards she wore a Monse dress, nude fitted bodice, silver fringe falling into an uneven hem. Different message, same confidence.
