I’ve been behind the camera since 2001 and shot more than 2,000 scenes, and I can tell you the rarest thing in Hollywood isn’t a nude scene. It’s Angelina Jolie on a red carpet she doesn’t have to be on.

Angelina Jolie hosted a special screening of Martin McDonagh’s Wild Horse Nine in Hollywood on Monday, Nov. 2, 2026, and reunited with her Changeling co-star John Malkovich on the carpet. She isn’t in the film. Sharon Stone was in the room too. The event at the Linwood Dunn Theater was a tastemaker night ahead of the movie’s U.S. release on Nov. 6, and Jolie hosted it, according to ADN Radio and ELLE España (ADN Radio, ELLE España). W Magazine says she was “spotted smiling and posing with the cast” but was “notably absent from the official photos” (W Magazine).

The clip did the rest. Variety‘s video of Jolie with Malkovich passed 43,000 views on X within hours, and FilmUpdates reposted it for another 24,000 overnight. Fan accounts filled the gaps with more angles of her inside the venue.

Here’s the moment Angelina Jolie finally came out of hiding. On the Wild Horse Nine carpet in Hollywood on Nov. 2, 2026, she poses side by side with her old co-star John Malkovich, then lines up with Parker Posey in red and Mariana Di Girolamo in florals, all black coat, white silk and that slow smile.

What happened at the Wild Horse Nine screening

Jolie arrived in her usual black and white, but looser than usual. W Magazine describes “a billowy white top, a floor-grazing black skirt, and glossy stilettos” under “an oversized cape-like black coat featuring white cuffs,” calling the look “slouchy, satiny, and decidedly undone” (W Magazine).

Inside, she posed with Malkovich, with Parker Posey and with the film’s Chilean star Mariana Di Girolamo. ADN Radio lists McDonagh, Malkovich, Steve Buscemi, Posey and Di Girolamo at the event, plus producer Graham Broadbent and casting director Sarah Finn (ADN Radio).

The surprise guest was Sharon Stone. ELLE España reports she came with one of her sons, and notes that the two stars have never worked together, though Stone has publicly praised Jolie’s humanitarian work, calling her a brave, committed woman who, in ELLE’s words, “predica con el ejemplo” (leads by example) (ELLE España). Stone, 68, is also on ELLE España’s 40th-anniversary cover this month.

NICO’S TAKE

"Nico

Here’s what I see. Angelina doesn’t do carpets anymore unless there’s a reason, and this one wasn’t even her movie. She hosted it, smiled for the fan cameras, and then kept herself out of the official photos. That’s not shyness. That’s control.

After 2,000+ scenes I know the difference between an actress who shows up and a star who chooses when to be seen. She chose a night that was all about John Malkovich, a man she has shared the screen with twice, and she still owned every frame of that Variety clip.

My take: this is Angelina easing back in on her own terms. Black coat, white silk, zero drama. My bet? The next time she walks a carpet it’ll be her own film, and the whole internet will stop again.

Her wild side is still on her hub →

Jolie and Malkovich: the history

They first shared the screen in Robert Zemeckis’s motion-capture epic Beowulf (2007), with Jolie as Grendel’s mother and Malkovich as Unferth. A year later they were together again in Clint Eastwood’s Changeling (2008), the crime drama that earned Jolie a Best Actress Oscar nomination (W Magazine).

Wild Horse Nine is Malkovich’s big moment. Searchlight’s synopsis: shortly before the 1973 Chilean coup, CIA agents Chris (Malkovich) and Lee (Sam Rockwell) are sent from Santiago to Easter Island by their bureau chief MJ (Buscemi), and Chris’s bond with two rebellious students (Di Girolamo and Ailín Salas) threatens to blow up the trip (Searchlight Pictures). Deadline reports the film drew an almost 15-minute ovation at its Venice premiere, and Malkovich won the festival’s Volpi Cup for Best Actor (Deadline).

Angelina on the carpet: 2025-2026

She has picked her nights carefully: her own film Couture in Paris and at a screening in June 2026, the Rome Film Festival in 2025, a Tom Ford night in Shanghai and a Madame Figaro cover. W Magazine notes that her last screening before this one was for Without Blood, the film she directed (W Magazine).

The other Angelina: her hottest nude scenes

Before the humanitarian work and the directing, Jolie was the most dangerous woman in Hollywood thrillers, and the scenes still hold up. In Taking Lives (2004) she plays FBI profiler Illeana Scott opposite Ethan Hawke.
