A three-hour documentary just beat the odds again, and it’s dragging Amanda Seyfried’s four-year-old Hulu show back up the charts with it. “You Can See Everything,” Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim’s A24 film about Elizabeth Holmes, made $19.5 million in its second weekend, up from its $15.6 million opening, for $45.1 million in North America, Variety reports. At the same time, Amanda Seyfried‘s “The Dropout,” the 2022 series where she first played Holmes, went from about 13,000 views to about 105,000 in the film’s first week in theaters, a jump of more than 700%, per Luminate data reported by Gold Derby.

I’m Nico Grey. I shoot adult films, I run NicoGrey.com and Scandal Planet, and I put money into investments, crypto and AI, so a $7 million movie heading for seven times its budget gets my full attention. Here’s what the numbers actually say, which one is which, and where to watch Amanda’s two Holmes performances.

What happened

A24 widened the film from 855 theaters to 2,655 for its second weekend, Oct. 23 to 25, and ticket sales went up instead of down. It finished second behind Warner Bros. and DC’s “Clayface,” which opened with $24 million from 3,458 theaters, Variety reports. Variety’s own comparison: a documentary in its second weekend made “almost as much as a new comic-book adaptation.”

The film cost $7 million to make, according to Variety and IndieWire, and it hasn’t opened outside North America yet.

"NicoNICO’S TAKE

Amanda, you played Elizabeth Holmes so well the first time that the real one had a visible reaction watching it on camera. Then you came back for round two and pushed a four-year-old Hulu show up 700% in a week. That’s not a comeback, that’s a growth chart.

Hulu, send her a fruit basket and a bigger check. A24, $7 million in, $45 million back and still climbing: I’ve seen crypto deals with worse returns.

But here’s my problem with the Holmes era: black turtlenecks, zero skin. The Amanda who earned this hype took real risks on screen, in Chloe, in Lovelace, in The Housemaid. If you want to see everything, start on her hub →

186%, 400% or 700%? Three numbers, three different things

You’ll see all three figures for “The Dropout” this week. They’re all real, but they measure different things:
