Most people get one birthday dress. Kim Kardashian got two, both 30 years old, both made of metal, and she swapped them halfway through dinner. To celebrate turning 46 this week, Kim Kardashian arrived at Baldi at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills in an emerald-green Paco Rabanne chainmail minidress and left in a red version of the same design, Page Six reports. Both are original haute couture pieces from Rabanne’s fall-winter 1995 collection, chosen for her by the house’s new creative director, Olivier Rousteing, according to Vogue and Rabanne’s own Instagram.

I’m Nico Grey. I make adult films, I run NicoGrey.com and Scandal Planet, and the rest of my time goes into investment, crypto and AI companies. I also know a power move when a 46-year-old wears a museum piece to a steakhouse. Here’s exactly what she wore, who picked it, and why it matters for his first Rabanne show.

Rabanne posted the first look itself, with a thank-you to stylist Law Roach. Page Six and XFashion posted the photos from the night.

What happened

Kim’s family dinner had her mom Kris Jenner, sisters Kylie Jenner, Khloé Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian, and her brother Rob, who made a rare public appearance, Harper’s Bazaar reported. Inside, she blew out the candles on a giant raspberry-covered cake, Page Six said.

The clothes were the story. Rabanne posted the green look on Instagram as “an original Paco Rabanne haute couture creation from the Fall-Winter 95 collection, selected by @olivier_rousteing,” and thanked stylist Law Roach. Rousteing told Vogue: “For me, fashion has always been about connecting the past, the present and the future.” One fan post of the two looks has passed 560,000 views on X.

Kim, darling. Most people turn 46 and order a cake. You raided a Paris couture vault, wore 1995 chainmail with a slit high enough to flash the boyshorts, and changed couture before the cake came out. That’s not a birthday. That’s a product launch.

Olivier hands you the keys to Rabanne five months before his own first show. Law Roach dresses you. Lewis got the string-top preview in the Philippines first. Three powerful men around one birthday, and not one of them is running it.

Here’s my challenge: next year, wear it without the boyshorts. You built an empire on the world not looking away, after all. The full Kim file is on her hub →

The dresses are 30 years old. The fascination is older. Her Scandal Planet hub has everything on one page, and her sisters and Paris Hilton are a click away.
