A life-size AI doll that remembers your last conversation. A Chinese video model that generates footage as fast as you can watch it. Porn stars signing deals for AI clones that never age.<\/strong> The adult industry has always been first to new tech, from VHS to streaming. Now AI is knocking, and plenty of people are asking whether it ends the human performer. Below are the facts, each one sourced and linked, plus our view (clearly marked) and a personal take from creator Nico Grey.<\/p>\n

The robots are here, and they want to talk<\/h2>\n

At CES 2026, Lovense, the company behind app-connected sex toys, unveiled Emily, a life-size AI companion doll with a silicone body, a posable skeleton and limited facial movement, CNET<\/a> reported. Its real pitch is memory: it can hold conversations, remember past chats and adapt its personality over time, according to the company. Price: $4,000 to $8,000 depending on customization, with shipping expected in 2027 and a $200 waitlist reservation, CNET says.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile Realbotix, the Toronto company known for its realistic companion robots, is moving the other way. It\u2019s splitting its adult doll business from its family-friendly robot business, The Logic<\/a> reported, and pushing its humanoids into hospitality, healthcare and corporate use, per The Robot Report<\/a>. The lesson: the hardware is real, but it\u2019s still expensive, early and far from replacing human intimacy at scale.<\/p>\n

The real-time AI video race from China<\/h2>\n

Here\u2019s the part that sounds like science fiction. Claims are flying online that Chinese AI can now generate several seconds of video in about one second. We couldn\u2019t verify that exact figure from any company or paper, so we won\u2019t repeat it as fact. What we can<\/em> verify: Vidu S1, from China\u2019s ShengShu and Tsinghua University researchers, \u201coutputs 540p real-time videos at up to 42 FPS on regular consumer GPUs,\u201d according to the team\u2019s paper on Hugging Face<\/a>. In plain English: video generated as fast as it plays, controlled by voice, on a gaming-grade graphics card.<\/p>\n

Real-time is the big leap. It means AI video can be interactive, reacting while you watch, instead of a clip you wait minutes for. That\u2019s exactly why the adult industry is paying attention. Note too that the paper says users can upload images of real people. Making sexual content of a real person without consent is illegal in the U.S. now (see below), and it\u2019s something we\u2019ll never support.<\/p>\n

The stars cashing in on AI clones<\/h2>\n

Some performers aren\u2019t waiting to be replaced. They\u2019re licensing themselves. WIRED<\/a> reports that retired star Lisa Ann signed with AI companion platform OhChat to license her likeness, voice and look: \u201cThis keeps my name alive. She\u2019s never going to age.\u201d Cherie Deville told WIRED that creators can \u201clet the makers of AI take the lion\u2019s share of the money\u201d or build their own AI revenue. OhChat says it has over 400,000 users and 250 creators, takes a 20% cut, and that clones can be deleted at any time, per WIRED.<\/p>\n

And even Ann admits the limit: \u201cGuys are always going to want real content. Men are always going to want to see new scenes,\u201d she told WIRED.<\/p>\n

The law just got a lot tougher<\/h2>\n

The TAKE IT DOWN Act, signed on May 19, 2025, makes it a federal crime to publish nonconsensual intimate images, including AI-generated \u201cdigital forgeries,\u201d and requires platforms to remove them within 48 hours of a valid request, according to the White House<\/a> and AP<\/a>. The FTC<\/a> began enforcing the platform rules in May 2026. Bottom line: consent-based AI (performers licensing their own likeness) is a business. Deepfaking someone who didn\u2019t agree is a crime.<\/p>\n
