The Voyeurs Sex Scenes: Sydney Sweeney, Natasha Liu Bordizzo and the Studio Across the Street
Sydney Sweeney and Ben Hardy in the Voyeurs studio sex scene (1:37). The other 9 scenes from the film are further down the page.
The Voyeurs is the film that made Sydney Sweeney an erotic thriller star. She plays Pippa, a trainee optometrist who moves into a Montreal apartment with her boyfriend Thomas (Justice Smith) and realises that the photographer across the street, Seb (Ben Hardy), and his wife Julia (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) live their whole lives in front of a giant window. Pippa and Thomas start watching. Then they start listening. Then Pippa gets far too close. I have put every sex and nude scene from The Voyeurs on this page: 10 clips in HD, each with its length and what actually happens, from the first blurry look through the window to Pippa posing naked for Seb and ending up in his bed. Every actress is here, not just Sweeney. For the rest of her career see my Sydney Sweeney nude scenes page, and Julia has her own Natasha Liu Bordizzo page.
The Voyeurs Sex Scene: Sydney Sweeney and Ben Hardy in Seb’s Studio (1:37)
Seb’s studio, Montreal | With: Sydney Sweeney, Ben Hardy
This is the night the whole film has been building to. Thomas has walked out, Pippa has followed Seb to a bar, and a few drinks later she is in his studio, the same room she has spent weeks watching through binoculars from across the street. Now she is inside the frame. Sydney Sweeney is bare from the waist up for most of the minute and a half, first pinned under Ben Hardy on the couch, then on top of him with his hand on her chest, head thrown back between a cheap red lamp and a cold strip of blue shelf light. Mohan keeps cutting back to her face, and Sweeney plays it as a woman finally getting what she wanted while knowing exactly how bad an idea it is. It is hot, a little desperate, and easily the most replayed minute and a half of Sweeney’s film career.
Why does this one come first? Because it is the scene everyone is looking for when they type the title into a search bar, and because it is the payoff for an hour of looking. The whole film is about watching other people have sex, and this is the moment Pippa stops watching. Sweeney brought Amanda Blumenthal, her intimacy coordinator from Euphoria, onto the set, and told Screen Rant that between Blumenthal and Mohan it was the safest space she could have been in. It shows: the scene is loose and physical and never looks staged.
Every Other Sex Scene in The Voyeurs
Mohan fills the film with sex seen at a distance, through glass, through a lens or through a pair of binoculars, and almost all of it involves Seb. Here is the rest of it, roughly in the order it plays in the film.
First Look Through the Window: Natasha Liu Bordizzo and Ben Hardy (0:34)
The Voyeurs (2021) | With: Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Ben Hardy
Pippa and Thomas have barely unpacked when they notice that the apartment across the street has no curtains worth mentioning. A photographer is shooting a woman in his studio, the lights go warm, and the shoot turns into something else entirely. We see it the way they do, from far away: a wall of tall windows, blue night outside, and two small figures getting closer and closer in the one lit room. It is barely explicit at this distance, and that is the point. This is the moment the habit starts, and the reason Pippa goes out and buys binoculars.
Sydney Sweeney Tries to Wake Up Thomas (0:42)
The Voyeurs (2021) | With: Sydney Sweeney, Justice Smith
After an evening spent watching the neighbours, Pippa is wound up and ready. She steps out of the bathroom in a sheer, skin-coloured bodysuit that hides almost nothing, poses in the doorway with the mirror light behind her, and pads across the bedroom. Thomas, played by Justice Smith, is already asleep with his glasses still on. She leans over him, smiling, strokes his face, and gets nothing. The last shot is Sweeney lying wide awake beside him in the lamp light. It is a funny little scene and a sad one, and it tells you everything about why Pippa is about to start looking elsewhere.
Natasha Liu Bordizzo in Yellow Lingerie, Seen Through Binoculars (0:44)
The Voyeurs (2021) | With: Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Ben Hardy
Now the binoculars are out, and the film shows us exactly what Pippa sees: a round, blurry-edged view straight into the neighbours’ bedroom. Natasha Liu Bordizzo dances in for Seb in a canary yellow bra and teal knickers, teasing him while he lies on the bed with his reading. She snatches the pages out of his hands, climbs over him and stretches out along the bed on her stomach, and the two of them roll around laughing like a couple who have done this a thousand times. It is playful rather than hard, and it is the scene that turns the watching from a joke into an obsession.
Cait Alexander and Ben Hardy: Seb Cheats in Front of the Window (0:48)
The Voyeurs (2021) | With: Cait Alexander, Ben Hardy
Julia is out, and Seb has company. Cait Alexander plays Sam, one of his conquests, and through the binoculars we watch her stand by the window light in nothing but a tiny thong before he wraps himself around her from behind. Then they move to the bed: Sam naked astride him in profile, and Seb, fully nude himself, taking her from behind at the edge of the mattress. It is the most explicit sex in the film that does not involve Sweeney, and it ends back across the street, on the binoculars. I have joined the three short pieces of this encounter into one clip so you can watch it in one go.
Blessing Adedijo Slips Out of Her Red Dress (0:34)
The Voyeurs (2021) | With: Blessing Adedijo, Ben Hardy
Another day, another model. Blessing Adedijo plays Mere, who turns up in a red wrap dress with her hair piled high. Seb, shirtless with his camera still hanging from its strap, peels the dress down to her waist, and she stands topless in front of him while he looks her over as if it were part of the job. Then they start kissing against the shelves. We see it all past the edge of the curtain through Pippa’s lenses, and you can feel her sympathy for Julia turning into something a lot more complicated.
Sydney Sweeney and Natasha Liu Bordizzo at the Spa (1:01)
The Voyeurs (2021) | With: Sydney Sweeney, Natasha Liu Bordizzo
Julia has had her eyes tested by Pippa and decided they should be friends, so the two women spend a day at a Montreal spa. It starts in a wood-panelled sauna in white robes and moves to a misty steam room, where Julia, robe hanging open, finally talks about her husband. Then the best part: a cold blue pool hall, frosted glass, and a naked silhouette walking down the steps into the water while the other woman waits in her robe. Pippa ends up in the pool, Julia watches from the side, and the whole scene plays like the two of them sizing each other up.
Bianca Blizzard and Sandrine Bergeron: The Morning After the Threesome (0:08)
The Voyeurs (2021) | With: Bianca Blizzard, Sandrine Bergeron, Ben Hardy
Seb’s night with two models, played by Bianca Blizzard and Sandrine Bergeron, has already happened by the time we join them. The three of them are tangled up in red and grey sheets, both women topless, laughing and stretching while Seb climbs out of bed. It is only eight seconds, but it is the scene that pushes Pippa over the edge: she sees the used condom go in the bin and decides Julia has to know.
Sydney Sweeney Poses Nude for Ben Hardy (0:30)
The Voyeurs (2021) | With: Sydney Sweeney, Ben Hardy
Before the sex comes the photograph. Seb has talked Pippa into posing for him, and in his studio she finally lets the last of her clothes go. Sydney Sweeney stands completely naked in front of a plain grey wall, one arm across her chest, while Seb, shirtless, circles her with the camera. Mohan flashes up the finished picture for a second, Pippa against a pale blue backdrop, and it is genuinely striking. Thirty seconds, almost no dialogue, and the tension in the room is ridiculous.
What Thomas Sees From Across the Street (0:08)
The Voyeurs (2021) | With: Sydney Sweeney, Ben Hardy
Thomas comes back to the apartment to make up with Pippa, and he picks up the binoculars. Eight seconds later the film has turned itself inside out: Pippa is now the one in the lit window, topless on top of Seb, while the man who loves her watches in the dark exactly the way she used to. It is short and it stings, and it is the last sex scene in the film.
What I Left Out
There are a lot of clips from this film floating around, and most of them are the same few minutes cut up again. I skipped the long fan supercuts, some of them over twenty minutes, because they repeat the scenes above and splice in the film’s violent ending. I also skipped a version of the spa scene with the nude shots blacked out, lower-quality re-cuts of the studio scene, and the Halloween party sequence, where Seb turns violent on Julia: that is not a sex scene and it does not belong on this page. Everything here is between adults who want to be there, which in a film about spying on people is worth saying.
Why The Voyeurs Works
Critics were split. Richard Roeper called it salacious and wildly implausible, Variety said it was a Rear Window rehash, and the San Francisco Chronicle complained the sex should have been better. The Guardian’s Charles Bramesco went the other way, gave it four stars and called it an ideal cocktail of funny, diabolical and perverted. I am with Bramesco. The Voyeurs knows it is trash and has a great time being trash, like the Basic Instinct and Body Double era it is borrowing from. And every sex scene in it is part of the plot. Each one is shot from someone else’s point of view, which means every time you watch it, you are doing exactly what Pippa does. Sweeney is very good at playing a nice girl who keeps making worse decisions, and she makes you root for her even when you are yelling at the screen.
About The Voyeurs (2021)
The Voyeurs is an erotic thriller written and directed by Michael Mohan, who had worked with Sweeney before on the Netflix series Everything Sucks!. It was shot in Montreal from late October to early December 2019 and produced by Greg Gilreath and Adam Hendricks for Divide/Conquer. Amazon Studios released it straight to Prime Video on September 10, 2021, and it runs 116 minutes. Reviews were mixed, 45% on Rotten Tomatoes and 54 on Metacritic, but its streaming numbers beat Amazon’s own expectations, and it is still one of the first films people bring up when they talk about Sweeney’s nude scenes.
