Brittany Snow plays Sophie, a newcomer with a dark past, and Malin Akerman plays Margo, the queen bee who decides she wants her. The Hunting Wives Sex Scene: Margo and Sophie at the Lake House (1:15)

Season 1, Episode 4 | With: Malin Akerman, Brittany Snow

Three episodes of looks, dares and almost-touches, and this is where it all breaks. Sophie is panicking at the lake house, tearing the place apart looking for her missing gun, and Margo calms her down the only way Margo knows how. A long kiss against the wall, Sophie’s striped dress pulled open, Margo in a red bikini, and then the two of them are on the bed, Margo working her way down and Sophie gripping the sheets with her eyes closed. Brittany Snow plays it like a woman who has wanted this for weeks and is shocked at how good it feels. It is the scene that sent the series to number one in the US, and it still holds up.

Why does this one come first? Because the whole first half of the season is built to get here. Every glance in the bathroom, every dare at the bar and every late-night drive is a slow fuse, and episode 4 is where it finally goes off. It is also the longest scene between Akerman and Snow, well over a minute, and the one people clip and share every time the show trends again.

The first time Sophie meets Margo, Margo is topless. Sophie has slipped away from Jed’s fundraiser to find a quiet bathroom, opens the wrong door and there is the hostess, in nothing but black lace panties, changing into her emerald dress. Any normal woman would grab a towel. Margo just smiles, takes her time and keeps talking, as if being stared at by a stranger is the most natural thing in the world. Sophie cannot decide where to look, and that little moment of panic is the seed of the whole series.

The Hot Tub After the Party (0:17)

Maple Brook’s idea of a nightcap. Long after the respectable guests have gone home, the steaming hot tub behind the Banks mansion is still busy: a grey-haired man leaning back with two topless women, Tamara Abrosimova and Lauren Farmer, the pool lights glowing blue while another guest in a gold robe smiles from the shadows. Nobody looks guilty, and that is the point. In fifteen seconds the show tells you this town’s money crowd plays by its own rules.

Margo and Callie, the Secret Nobody Talks About (0:24)

Callie is the sheriff’s wife and Margo’s number two, and in episode 2 we find out she is a lot more than that. Margo is supposed to be ending things between them because Jed is running for governor. Instead she cups Callie’s face, the kiss turns hungry, and Callie’s hand slides up under Margo’s skirt in the middle of a sunny living room. It is a goodbye that does not look anything like a goodbye, and you can see in Callie’s eyes that she will not take being replaced quietly.

Sophie and Graham Try to Reconnect (0:12)

Season 1, Episode 3 | With: Brittany Snow, Evan Jonigkeit

Sophie still has a husband, and this is the show reminding us. Graham wakes her up in their bright new Texas bedroom and the two of them tangle under the sheets, her legs around him, her face buried in the pillow. On paper it is a happy marriage getting back on track. The trouble is that Sophie’s mind keeps drifting somewhere else, and by the end of this short scene it is pretty clear she is not thinking about Graham.

Margo Comes to the Motel (0:45)

Season 1, Episode 7 | With: Malin Akerman, Brittany Snow

Sophie has been kicked out of her house and is living in a cheap motel room, and Margo turns up anyway. They argue, then one of them reaches for the other and it is over. Margo pushes Sophie back on the bed, kisses her way down her body and slips her hand under her shorts, and Sophie stops talking completely. It is messier and more desperate than the lake house, two women who should not trust each other doing it anyway.

Margo and Callie on the Couch (0:28)

One more round between Margo and Callie, and this time it is Callie who sets the pace. On a white couch in the middle of the afternoon, she pulls Margo in, the kisses getting longer and slower, both of them smiling between them like old lovers who know exactly what they are doing. Given everything Callie has been hiding by this point in the season, it is hard to watch without wondering what she really wants.

Margo, Jed and a Guest in the Green Bedroom (0:31)

The Banks marriage in one scene. Jed sits back in his robe while Margo and a curvy blonde guest kiss in the doorway, then all three end up in the huge four-poster bed under emerald silk sheets, candles everywhere. Afterwards they lie there laughing, Jed in the middle with a woman on each side, Margo cuddled up like this is just another Tuesday. Lauren Bowles and Malin Akerman are both topless under those silk sheets, and Akerman looks completely at home.

Sophie Goes Back to Margo (0:49)

Finale episode. Sophie walks into Margo’s house knowing she should not, and Margo, in a loose blue shirt, does not wait for an invitation. They kiss in the bedroom doorway, Sophie’s jeans shorts and black thong come off, and the two of them fall onto the white bed, skin on skin, Margo on top. It is the most open and the most tender sex scene in the whole season, shot in soft daylight, and knowing what Sophie is about to find out makes it sting.

The Afterglow in White Sheets (0:17)

Right after the bedroom scene. Margo and Sophie lie naked in a pile of cream sheets, smoking, laughing, legs everywhere, and for a few seconds they look like a real couple with nothing to hide. Then Margo rolls over, smiles at Sophie and kisses her again. It is the calm before the finale’s storm, and the last peaceful moment these two get in season 1.

The Hunting Wives Season 2: What We Know

Netflix picked the show up as a global original after season 1 took off, and season 2 lands on November 26, 2026, with all eight episodes at once. The first trailer dropped on October 20 and went viral almost immediately, mostly because of one shot: Margo and Sophie sharing a bubble bath. John Stamos, Cam Gigandet, Kim Matula and WNBA star Angel Reese join the cast, Dermot Mulroney and Jaime Ray Newman are back, and Netflix has already renewed the show for a third season. The Hunting Wives is an American drama series created by Rebecca Cutter and based on the novel by May Cobb. It was first made for Starz, then moved to Netflix in the US after Starz and Lionsgate split, and premiered on July 21, 2025 with all eight episodes. Sophie O’Neil moves from Massachusetts to the small town of Maple Brook with her husband Graham, falls in with Margo Banks and her clique of gun-loving socialites, and gets pulled into a web of secrets when a local girl is found dead in the woods where the group meets. It was filmed in and around Charlotte, North Carolina, with Mooresville standing in for East Texas, and it scored 81% on Rotten Tomatoes.
