Sydney Sweeney & Scooter Braun: NYC Date Night, Wedding Talk

Sydney Sweeney and Scooter Braun

Sydney Sweeney is having the kind of week most of Hollywood would kill for. One day she is back in character on a New Jersey film set, the next she is strolling through Manhattan hand-in-hand with her boyfriend Scooter Braun. And according to a source who spoke to Us Weekly, the two have already talked about the next big step.

Hand in hand through Union Square

The Daily Mail reports that Sweeney, 29, and Braun, 45, enjoyed a date night in New York on Sunday, October 18. She wore a black waistcoat minidress layered over a cream chunky knit, with sunglasses, heels and a clutch, while Braun kept it casual in a red baseball cap. The couple walked hand-in-hand through Union Square and were later seen leaving a restaurant in the West Village.

According to the same report, the pair have been together for just over a year. They met in Italy during the wedding events for Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez and made their first red carpet appearance together at the Venice Film Festival.

“They both want to get married”

Are wedding bells next? Not yet, but the talk has started. “They aren’t engaged yet but have talked about it. They both want to get married and are very serious,” a source told Us Weekly earlier this month. The insider added that Braun is open to having more kids, while Sweeney “would love to be a mom” but wants to wait a few more years.

Page Six has reported that Sweeney is also exploring a conversion to Judaism, Braun’s religion, and Us Weekly’s source says she has been attending meetings with him to learn more. Neither star has commented publicly, so for now this one stays in the “reportedly” column.

Millie Calloway is back

Work is not slowing down either. Page Six photographed Sweeney filming The Housemaid’s Secret, the sequel to her 2025 box-office hit, in Hoboken, New Jersey on October 15. She was seen running lines with new co-star Stephen Kalyn, who plays her on-screen love interest Brock Cunningham, and a day earlier taking selfies with returning co-star Michele Morrone, who kissed her on the forehead between takes.

Sweeney is reprising ex-convict-turned-housekeeper Millie Calloway. Amanda Seyfried, who played Nina Winchester in the first film, will not return on screen but is an executive producer, according to Page Six. Digital Spy reports that the sequel is scheduled for December 17, 2027.

The first film reportedly grossed over $400 million against a budget of around $35 million, so it is no surprise fans are already counting down. If you need something to tide you over until then, our Housemaid page has every steamy scene from the original.

Why fans can’t stop talking

Sweeney has spent the last few years juggling blockbusters, prestige TV and a love life the tabloids never stop chasing. A happy relationship, a hit franchise and a sequel already shooting is a very good place to be, and judging by those Union Square photos, she knows it.
