No, Selena Gomez Didn’t End Her Marriage to Benny Blanco on Instagram Live

A viral X post claims Selena Gomez went on Instagram Live and ended her marriage to Benny Blanco after finding texts with a female rapper, and that she wished she had ended up with Justin Bieber. The post is not a primary source, and as of Nov. 6, 2026, no major outlet has confirmed that Live or a split. Treat the claim as unverified rumor — not established fact.

I’m Nico Grey. I run NicoGrey.com and Scandal Planet. When a caption invents a dramatic Live, I check whether a real outlet has the story and whether the attached clip actually says what the caption says. This one fails both tests.

What the viral post claims

On Nov. 5, 2026, @F4vourgtx (Favour) posted that Selena “went live on Instagram revealing she has ended her marriage” with Benny Blanco. The caption attributes quotes to her about checking his phone, texts with “a female rapper,” and wishing she had “ended up with Justin Bieber.” Favour is not a news outlet and is not a primary source. Those attributed lines are reported here only as what the post claims — not as verified words from Selena.

What we checked in the attached clip

Sampled frames from the ~25-second clip show a crying selfie-style close-up indoors. We did not see an Instagram Live badge, scrolling comments or reaction UI in those frames. A short transcript of the audio includes lines about “my people” and “children” and wishing she could “do something” — wording that matches Selena’s January 2025 Instagram video about immigration raids, reported at the time by The Indian Express (quoting Pop Base): “I’m so sorry. All my people are getting attacked. The children, I don’t understand. I wish I could do something.” That older video is not a divorce announcement.

Earlier divorce-rumor waves were already debunked

In April 2026, similar chatter claimed a deleted “I’m single” Instagram Story and texts with “another celebrity.” India Today reported no confirmed separation and linked the “single” claim to parody/unverified material. IBTimes UK described the Story screenshot as fabricated and the texts/move-out claims as unverified. Separate Instagram Live caption fabrications (pregnancy / Justin Bieber contact) were also called out by outlets reviewing those clips, including IBTimes UK.

What’s actually on the record

Selena and Benny married Sept. 27, 2025, in Santa Barbara, California, per People. On Oct. 14, 2026 — about three weeks before this X post — she told E! News at her Rare Impact Fund Benefit that after a year of marriage, “We know everything,” and that Benny had called that morning to say he was proud of her and that he loves her. That is recent, on-camera warmth — not a confirmed split.

Bottom line: We are not reporting a separation, cheating, or a divorce Live as fact. The viral claim remains unsupported. The clip’s audio lines up with an old immigration video, and major-outlet confirmation of this Live or a breakup is missing as of Nov. 6, 2026 (Asia/Bangkok).
