Marina Ochoa: Sunlit Bed Scene (1:28)

The brightest and most explicit scene Narcos ever shot. Morning light pours through orange curtains into a pale blue bedroom, and Marina walks to the bed bare from behind, climbs over her lover, and kisses him with her curls falling over his face. He pulls her down by the neck, the pace picks up, and the camera stays close on shoulders, breasts and faces. Afterwards she sits up on the edge of the mattress while he smokes beside her and the two argue about who is turning up dead every day. A flower arrangement and an ice bucket sit on the bedside table the whole time.

Why this one first? Almost everything else in Narcos was filmed in low light, and this is the one scene where you can see everything, in daylight and in colour.

The rest, from Peña’s nights with Elisa to Judy Moncada’s bath, mostly come from the first season. They are darker and shorter, and I have kept only the ones where something is actually visible.

Elisa and Peña: Bedroom Scenes (5:40)

The longest clip on the page, and the dimmest. Elisa, the M-19 guerrilla leader played by Ana de la Reguera, lies in bed with Javier Peña, and the clip runs through several of their nights in a row. A close-up of Pascal’s moustached face, Elisa in a black jacket by a lamp, bodies under sheets in a lit apartment, and a subtitled exchange in which she asks him whether he sleeps with all his informants. It is a series of short, shadowy encounters, strongest in the middle when the camera comes in close.

Tata and Pablo: Reunion in Bed (2:18)

Pablo comes home and Tata is waiting. It opens on a tight shot of two faces on a pillow, then pulls back to a far wider view of the bed under a warm lamp, with Tata’s bare shoulders and legs visible among the white sheets. Later they stand by a dressing mirror in a dim bedroom, she tells him she missed him, and he promises to take care of everything. It is a soft, romantic scene, closer to the show’s family drama than to its cartel plots, and it is the only one in which Tata is the centre of the frame.

Tata and Pablo: Against the Wall (0:17)

Just 17 seconds, shot in gold light against patterned wallpaper. Tata and Pablo stand pressed together, both bare, her dark curls against his face, kissing and swaying in a slow circle. Nothing else happens in the clip, and nothing else needs to.

Helena and Peña: The Leather Couch (1:30)

Helena, the Bogotá call girl who ends up feeding information to the DEA, with Peña in his own living room. The two of them rock together on a worn leather sofa under a table lamp, he in patterned trousers, she half hidden beneath him, while the camera watches from the side. When they finish, Peña lights a cigarette with a lighter and pours a drink, and Adria Arjona lies still behind him. Brief, warm lighting, a lot of skin and no dialogue to speak of.

Connie and Murphy: Night by the Window (0:18)

Season 1, episode 2 | With: Joanna Christie, Boyd Holbrook

A short, dark clip of the married DEA couple. Connie, played by Joanna Christie, is in bed by a window with the curtains half drawn, her blond hair loose, while Steve Murphy leans over her. The room is lit only by a lamp at the edge of the frame, and you see mostly shoulders and silhouettes. Just 18 seconds, and the quietest on the page.

Judy Moncada: Bath and Bed (1:51)

Season 1, episode 9 | With: Cristina Umaña

Judy, played by Cristina Umaña, soaks in a foaming tub under a stained glass window while a bald man beside her feeds her from a spoon, strokes her face and kisses her, her bare breasts visible above the bubbles. A glass of wine passes between them, and then the scene moves to a bed with a tiger-print throw, where the two of them tangle under red light. The only scene in the series that stays in a bathroom, and the most unhurried.

What I Left Out

I skipped the scenes that show nothing: Stephanie Sigman’s underwear scenes as Valeria Vélez, Paulina Gaitán’s short underwear clip in season 2, Andrea Londo in season 3 and a few seconds of Ana de la Reguera in a sheer top. A second, extended cut of the Marina Ochoa bed scene is also left out, since it repeats the clip above, and so are two other clips of the same night. Everything on this page is between adults and each scene is a love scene, not a violent one.

About Narcos

Narcos is a Netflix crime drama created by Chris Brancato, Carlo Bernard and Doug Miro, which premiered on August 28, 2015 and ran for three seasons and 30 episodes. The first two seasons follow Pablo Escobar (Wagner Moura) and the Medellín cartel, with DEA agents Steve Murphy (Boyd Holbrook) and Javier Peña (Pedro Pascal) on his trail, and the third moves on to the Cali cartel. Its spin-off, Narcos: Mexico, followed in 2018. Most of the nudity is in season 1, which is why nearly every clip on this page comes from it.
