Miranda Kerr Reveals the ‘Knot in My Stomach’ That Made Her Say No to Victoria’s Secret’s 2026 Runway

Miranda Kerr, 43, says she turned down Victoria’s Secret’s invitation to walk its Oct. 18 show, 20 years after her runway debut, because picturing herself up there in her underwear gave her “this knot in my stomach.” She told the story on the Nov. 3 episode of the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast.

What she said, word for word

Kerr told host Amanda Hirsch she was close to saying yes. “I was really, seriously considering it,” she said, per Us Weekly. “I’d just walked Stella McCartney and I had a great time.” When the invitation came, she thought “how that would be so cool for me to get back on the runway and give them a wink,” per USA Today.

Then the nerves hit. “I got really excited, then I got kind of anxious,” she said. “How am I actually going to feel when I’m up there on the runway? Everyone’s in their underwear, I’m in my underwear; I’m 43 … I got this knot in my stomach.” Meditation didn’t fix it. “The only way I could resolve that was to say, ‘OK, you’re not going to do the show. How do you feel now?’” The answer: “I felt the knot in my stomach release.” (USA Today; Page Six)

She also told the podcast that a lot of people on her team were pushing her to do it, per Page Six, and that “it also feels like that was then and this is now, and I’m at a different stage in my life.” No shade at the brand: she called it “an honor to be asked to walk back” and said she felt “very humbled and honored that they would even want me.”

Page Six, EW and Just Jared all ran it within hours on Tuesday, Nov. 3 (U.S. time). Page Six’s post had passed 6,800 views and the New York Post’s 28,000 by Wednesday evening, Bangkok time:

The note she posted hours before the show

This wasn’t a surprise to anyone following her. Hours before the Oct. 18 show, she posted a gallery of her old Angel photos on Instagram, per the Daily Mail: “20 years since my first Victoria’s Secret show. Looking back with so much gratitude for the friendships, the magical memories and for everyone who made that chapter of my life so special.” Then the line that said it all: “It meant so much to be invited to return this year … but I ultimately felt in my heart it was right to cherish this chapter as it was.”

The comments, per the Daily Mail: Elsa Hosk, who walked this year, wrote “The way you had us OBSESSED.” Sophie Monk wrote “That smile should be illegal.” And Victoria’s Secret’s own account answered: “Always an Angel to us.” That night she reposted runway footage and posted her own tribute: a video of herself strutting across her living room in a silk robe and heels.

Why she almost said yes: the Stella McCartney comeback

On Sept. 30 she walked Stella McCartney’s Spring/Summer 2027 show in Paris, her first runway in nearly a decade (Page Six). E! News describes the look: a seafoam-green gown with a knotted waist, cut-outs that showed her abs, dramatic shoulder pads and a bodycon skirt, with a snakeskin clutch and silver heels. Her Instagram line afterward: “Still smiling from this morning. Thank you @stellamccartney for such a special return to the runway.” Before that, her last runway was Moschino in June 2017, per USA Today.

Her own explanation for why one felt right and the other didn’t, per Pedestrian.tv: “It wasn’t feeling expansive the way it felt for me when Stella asked me to walk her show.” And per USA Today: “Fashion shows and Victoria’s Secret are two very different things.”

Who did come back on Oct. 18

The 2026 show in Los Angeles leaned hard on nostalgia. Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel and Alessandra Ambrosio all returned (Daily Mail), and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley walked again for the first time in 16 years (USA Today). Kerr watched the livestream from home. “I want to watch the girls!” she said she thought when it started, per USA Today.
