Kylie Jenner Wants a Ring Before Kendall Gets One, but Timothée’s ‘Not There Yet’

Kylie Jenner is ready for a ring, and she’d like it before her big sister gets one. That’s the claim in a Page Six exclusive published Wednesday, October 21: a source says Kylie Jenner “is ready to get engaged and has made it pretty clear to Timothée that she sees marriage in their future.” The same source says Timothée Chalamet “loves Kylie” but is “simply not there yet.” The twist is the reason given for the timing. According to Page Six, what “really bothers” Kylie is the idea of Kendall Jenner and Jacob Elordi getting engaged first.

So I read a relationship story the way I read a deal memo: what’s signed, what’s a rumor, and who’s doing the talking. Here’s that version of the Jenner ring race.

What happened

Page Six ran two exclusives on Oct. 21, both from an unnamed insider. The first says Kylie, 29, isn’t “giving him ultimatums or demanding a ring” but is “definitely making her feelings known,” and that “it’s putting some pressure on Timothée to take that next step.” It adds that if Chalamet, 30, proposed soon, “it would be more because of the pressure he’s feeling rather than because he’s genuinely ready.”

The second is about the sisters. “People in their inner circle actually see Kendall and Jacob getting married first, and it’s causing some jealousy and frustration for Kylie,” the source told Page Six. It describes Elordi as “completely all in with Kendall” and says Kylie and Timothée “still have a more fun and carefree dynamic.” Reps for all four didn’t respond to Page Six. Nobody is engaged, and nobody has said a word on the record.

Confirmed vs. claimed: the ring ledger

Strip out the anonymous quotes and here is what’s actually on the record:

• Confirmed, his own words: At the Critics Choice Awards on Jan. 4, accepting best actor for “Marty Supreme,” Chalamet told Kylie, “Thank you for our foundation. I love you. I couldn’t do this without you,” People reported.
• Confirmed, his own words: At a Feb. 1 Q&A at London’s Prince Charles Cinema, Richard Curtis asked if he’d ever get married. “Wow … that’s so personal,” he said, then “You’re going to get me in trouble, man,” and then “Yes. Yes,” per People. He didn’t give a timeline.
• Confirmed, on camera: On Oct. 18 he sat front row next to Kris Jenner at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show as Kylie made her runway debut in the $50 million Fantasy Bra, as we covered here.
• Claimed, by one unnamed source: that Kylie is pushing for an engagement, that Timothée isn’t ready, and that she’s jealous of Kendall. No rep, friend or family member has said this on the record.

So the public record points one way and the single source points the other. Both can be true: a man can say “yes” to marriage in general and still not be ready to buy a ring this fall. Remember, this is a source talking about private feelings, so treat it as reported, not proven.

Two Jenner couples, side by side

The “jealousy” angle only works if Kendall’s romance really is moving faster, so here are both timelines from the reporting:

• Kylie and Timothée: first linked in April 2023, public at Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour that September, and a red-carpet debut together in Rome in May 2025, per People. In January 2026, Page Six reported they’d been living together in Los Angeles for over a year. That’s roughly three and a half years.
• Kendall and Jacob: dating rumors started earlier this year, the four of them went on a double date in L.A. in May, and they made it more public on an Australia trip in June. In August, a Page Six insider said Kendall saw Elordi as “husband material.” On Oct. 17 they spent the Academy Museum Gala together, Yahoo Entertainment reports, where he took candid photos of her while her Valentino dress was adjusted.

That double date matters. A separate source told People in May that Kylie liked Elordi and was excited for her sister, Yahoo notes. It’s a long way from that to “jealous and frustrated” five months later, and only one anonymous source makes the jump.

Why the timing stings

This landed three days after the best week of Kylie’s year. On Oct. 18 she became the first non-Angel ever to wear the Fantasy Bra, with Timothée in the front row next to her mom. Three days later, the conversation moved from her runway walk to whether he’ll ever propose.

For Timothée, the stakes are lower but real. He’s the one painted as stalling, and he almost never talks about his private life. Even his February marriage answer only happened because a famous director put him on the spot in front of a theater full of fans.

What to watch next

Three things would change this story: a rep finally commenting, a ring showing up on either sister’s hand, or Kylie or Kendall addressing it themselves, whether on “The Kardashians” or on Instagram.
