Helen Flanagan’s Halloween Costume 2026: Sexy Wuthering Heights Cathy in a Lace Corset
I’ve been behind the camera since 2001 and shot more than 2,000 scenes, and the first thing I learned about costume is this: the corset does the talking, everything else is just punctuation. Helen Flanagan knows that better than anyone in British TV. For Halloween 2026 she turned Emily Brontë’s tragic heroine, Catherine Earnshaw from Wuthering Heights, into a low-cut lace corset, a red PVC skirt and gloves, and then walked into a lingerie brand’s Halloween party with a mark on her neck that the whole internet decided was a love bite.

Helen Flanagan’s Halloween costume in 2026 was Catherine Earnshaw from Wuthering Heights: a cleavage-boosting low-cut lace corset, a red PVC skirt and gloves. The Daily Mail put her in its Oct. 31 Halloween round-up, saying the former Coronation Street star was “no doubt inspired by Margot Robbie’s version of the character.” That’s the Mail’s read, not Helen’s, but the timing fits: Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights, with Margot Robbie as Cathy and Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff, hit cinemas in February.
The Sun says Helen, 36, wore the look to a Halloween party hosted by lingerie brand Ann Summers at The Box, the late-night Soho club, on Thursday, Oct. 29, and shared the night on her Instagram (@hjgflanagan). The Sun called it a “cleave-enhancing corset and red skirt.” Then her followers zoomed in on her neck.

Helen’s Catherine Earnshaw costume, piece by piece
- The corset: low-cut black lace, laced tight and pushed up. The Daily Mail called it “low-cut,” The Sun “cleave-enhancing.” Both are right.
- The skirt: red PVC. Not exactly 18th-century Yorkshire, but Fennell’s film already swapped the moors for vinyl and gloss, so Helen is closer to the movie than to the book.
- The gloves: long gloves, the one properly period touch in the whole look.
- The hair: her signature long blonde hair, worn loose. No dark Cathy wig.
- The neck: a deep red mark that sent her comments section into a frenzy (more on that below).
Corset, skirt and gloves per the Daily Mail; venue, date, host and the neck mark per The Sun. The rest is what the published photos show.
The “love bite”: what Helen’s fans saw
According to The Sun, the costume wasn’t what stopped the scroll. It was a “deep red blemish” on her neck. Fans piled into her comments: “What u done to your neck?”, “Who bit your neck?”, “Ooft, the neck lol” and “Look lovely… and yes we see it.” The Sun ran it as “Single Helen Flanagan sparks new romance rumours.”
What’s confirmed and what isn’t: the mark is real, it’s in the photos. What it is, nobody has confirmed. The Sun itself said it was “presumably a cosmetic vampire bite to accompany her costume,” and Helen hasn’t said otherwise. No new boyfriend has been named. So file the romance under rumour, not news.
Nico’s take: Cathy was always the wild one, Helen just dressed her honestly

Everyone remembers Wuthering Heights as a love story. It isn’t. Cathy is selfish, wild and obsessed, and the whole book is about a woman who wants what she shouldn’t have. Fennell’s film leaned all the way into that. Helen just took the period dress off.
And look where she wore it: an Ann Summers party. A lingerie brand, a Soho club, a lace corset and red PVC. That’s not a costume, that’s a casting. Same move as her knickers joke on Instagram: give them a hint, let them do the rest.
The neck mark? Vampire make-up or not, it was the best prop in the room. On set, the detail people argue about is worth more than the outfit. My take: the most British costume of the year, sexy, a bit messy and totally on brand.

Wuthering Heights, Margot Robbie and the Cathy look
Emily Brontë published Wuthering Heights in 1847. Catherine Earnshaw is the wilful girl of the Yorkshire moors who loves Heathcliff but marries the rich Edgar Linton, and the obsession wrecks everyone around them. Emerald Fennell’s adaptation, released in February 2026 with Margot Robbie as Cathy and Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff, turned it into a fever dream of corsets, red, black and gloss, which made Cathy one of the easiest costumes of the season to sex up. Helen Flanagan: how we got here
Helen Flanagan, 36, born Aug. 7, 1990, is best known as Rosie Webster on ITV’s Coronation Street, a role she played until 2018. She went into the jungle on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2012 and has built a second career on Instagram, where she is known for her lingerie pictures and racy outfits. She and former footballer Scott Sinclair were together for 13 years and engaged for four before splitting in October 2022, per The Sun; they share three children. She went on E4’s Celebs Go Dating in 2024.
This October was a corset month for her. On Oct. 11 The Sun reported a thigh-skimming shirt and corset look from a Soho House party, her “third sexy corset look within a few days.” Before Halloween she posted leather hotpants and fishnets with the caption “Season of the witch,” per The Sun and recalled her cheeky Instagram video joking that she would sell her knickers for cash. Cathy in a lace corset was the obvious next chapter.
