A Nov. 6, 2026 post from @DikenaClinton (about 636K views at lookup) is spreading Ariel Winter’s line “I love my butt. I love butts!” as if it were new. It isn’t: the Modern Family star said it to The Hollywood Reporter in September 2017, when she was 19.

What she actually said

In the full quote, Winter was answering people who shamed her for her outfits online: “If you want to wear a short skirt and show your body like I do, it doesn’t mean you’re a whore. And it doesn’t mean you’re not one. People call me stupid because I post photos of my butt when the real thing is, I love my butt. I love butts! Why stifle yourself because other people can’t handle it?” (THR)

She told the magazine she had tried covering up to please critics and “actually got more hate by trying to change” (Business Insider). She also described being body-shamed as a child actor after puberty. She later spoke publicly about her breast reduction surgery.

I’ve been behind the camera since 2001. A confident quote from 2017 can get more views today than it did when she said it, because nobody checks the date. Ariel’s point was simple: what she wears is her choice, and the trolls don’t get a vote. That still holds. Just know you’re reading a 2017 interview, not a new statement.
