Joely Richardson Nude Scenes: Lady Chatterley to Drowning by Numbers

Yes, Joely Richardson has done nude and sex scenes, led by the 1993 BBC Lady Chatterley miniseries and full nudity in Peter Greenaway’s Drowning by Numbers.

This hub has 5 clips, each with its length and its own write-up, ranked from best to last. The hero clip above is the bed sex from Lady Chatterley. Her 2022 Netflix turn as Mrs Bolton in Lady Chatterley’s Lover has no worthwhile nudes of her — that film’s sex scenes belong to Emma Corrin on the Lady Chatterley’s Lover sex scenes title hub.

Updated: November 7, 2026 (Bangkok). New hub, every clip written up from scratch for this actress page.

I’ve been behind the camera since 2001 and shot 2,000+ scenes. Most people know Joely from Nip/Tuck or The Tudors, but the real nude work is Connie in Ken Russell’s Lady Chatterley and Cissie in Drowning by Numbers. Here is every scene worth your time, ranked, plus what I left out.

Joely Richardson is a British actress born in 1965, daughter of Vanessa Redgrave. She broke out in the late 1980s, played Connie Chatterley for the BBC in 1993, then spent seven seasons as Julia McNamara on Nip/Tuck. The career nude scenes that clear my checks sit in Lady Chatterley and Drowning by Numbers.

Joely Richardson in Lady Chatterley (1993)

Series: Lady Chatterley (BBC, 1993) | Role: Constance Chatterley | What you see: full nude bed sex, forest sex, doggy-style sex

Ken Russell’s four-part BBC adaptation puts Connie in an affair with the gamekeeper Mellors (Sean Bean). Joely was about 28. It is still her strongest nude work — different film from the 2022 Netflix remake where she plays Mrs Bolton with no worthwhile nudes.

Lady Chatterley: Bed Sex (2:35)

Lady Chatterley (BBC, 1993), as Connie with Sean Bean

This is the clip at the top of this page.

Connie and Mellors in bed. He peels her dress down so her breasts, butt and bush are clear, then she rides him while the camera stays on her bare chest and pointed nipples. Longest and clearest nude sex scene of her career, and the clip at the top of this page.

Lady Chatterley: Forest Sex (1:29)

Lady Chatterley (BBC, 1993), as Connie with Sean Bean

Out in the woods, Connie braces against a tree while Mellors takes her hard from the front, hair pulled back. Skirt up, panties gone, vigorous thrusting in the open air. Rough outdoor beat from Ken Russell’s BBC miniseries.

Lady Chatterley: Sex From Behind (0:51)

Lady Chatterley (BBC, 1993), as Connie with Sean Bean

Connie on her knees as Mellors fucks her from behind. Tight on the motion and her body; a short, intense doggy-style cut that still earns a place on a career page.

Joely Richardson in Drowning by Numbers (1988)

Film: Drowning by Numbers (1988) | Role: Cissie Colpitts 3 | What you see: full frontal porch nude, topless pool

Peter Greenaway’s puzzle-box comedy. Joely plays the youngest of three women named Cissie Colpitts. She was about 22–23. Bright daylight full nudity on the porch, then a topless pool beat at night.

Drowning by Numbers: Porch Nude (0:47)

Drowning by Numbers (1988), as Cissie Colpitts 3

On a bright white porch, Joely reclines fully nude on a floral loveseat with a nude male partner while a third man in a cricket sweater watches. Full frontal body, legs open, bright daylight. Strongest career nude outside Lady Chatterley.

Drowning by Numbers: Pool Breasts (0:24)

Drowning by Numbers (1988), as Cissie Colpitts 3

Indoor pool at night. Joely is topless in the water, bare breasts clear above and below the surface as she moves with a male partner and holds a pair of binoculars. Short, sharp Greenaway nude beat.

What I Left Out

I kept this page to adult scenes worth watching. I left out Lady Chatterley’s Lover (2022) where she plays Mrs Bolton with no worthwhile nudes, Emerald City (short Glinda beat unavailable this pass), Papa: Hemingway in Cuba (robe and towel only), The Tribe (soft close-ups), The Affair of the Necklace (clothed period group), Nip/Tuck and Event Horizon (sexy-only), and Wetherby (she plays young Jean in the 1953 flashbacks as a student, so that clip stays off this list). Everything here is between adults.
