Tales of the City (2019) Sex Scenes: May Hong, Zosia Mamet and More

May Hong and Barbara Garrick in the hot tub scene from Tales of the City (1:28). The other 5 scenes from the 2019 Netflix miniseries are further down the page.

Tales of the City (2019) is Netflix’s ten-episode return to Armistead Maupin’s San Francisco: Laura Linney as Mary Ann Singleton coming home after twenty years, Elliot Page as Shawna, the daughter she left behind, Murray Bartlett as Mouse, May Hong as Margot Park, and Zosia Mamet as Claire Duncan. The show is frank about sex and identity. I have picked every worthwhile consensual adult scene and put them here: 6 clips in HD, each with its length and what actually happens.

May Hong and Barbara Garrick: the hot tub (1:28)

Episode 4 | With: May Hong, Barbara Garrick

DeDe Halcyon Day (Barbara Garrick) invites Margot Park (May Hong) over, and the two of them end up in DeDe’s outdoor hot tub with champagne. May Hong is nude in the water for most of the scene, relaxed against the rim while they talk, and it runs about a minute and a half in warm late-afternoon light. It is the clearest nude scene of the 2019 series and the one people come looking for.

Why this one first? Most of the 2019 series keeps the heat in soft kisses and half-lit apartments. The hot tub is the exception: long, bright, and clearly nude, with May Hong completely at ease in the water.

Every Other Sex and Nude Scene in Tales of the City (2019)

Here is the rest: Claire and Shawna’s affair, then the Episode 2 night with Inka and Eli. Elliot Page plays Shawna throughout (credited as Ellen Page when the show aired in 2019).

Claire and Shawna’s night together (1:01)

Episode 5 | With: Zosia Mamet, Elliot Page

Claire Duncan (Zosia Mamet) and Shawna (Elliot Page) finally get a proper night together. It opens with a long kiss outside under fairy lights, then moves inside: the two of them by the bedroom window, pulling at each other’s clothes, and on the bed with Claire in a black bra. Warm low light and slow close-ups. About a minute, and the emotional high point of their storyline.

Inka with Eli (1:28)

Episode 2 | With: Samantha Soule

Samantha Soule plays Inka, one half of the married couple Shawna goes home with after bar trivia. This cut stays with Inka: topless in a dark apartment, kissing her husband Eli on the couch while the night gets away from all of them. Low amber light, brick wall, about a minute and a half.

Shawna, Inka and Eli (1:22)

Episode 2 | With: Elliot Page, Samantha Soule

The same Episode 2 night from another angle. Shawna (Elliot Page) ends up on the couch with Inka (Samantha Soule) and Eli after trivia. The clip is the three of them kissing in that dark brick-walled apartment; Soule is the one the camera keeps returning to. Named carefully: Elliot Page plays Shawna here (credited as Ellen Page in 2019).

The first night kiss (0:25)

Episode 1 | With: Zosia Mamet, Elliot Page

Late at night outside a bar, Claire pulls Shawna (Elliot Page) against a brick wall and they kiss hard in the red light. Dark and grainy, mostly faces and hands, then a quiet shot of the empty lane. The one-night stand that starts the Claire and Shawna story.

The kiss in the park (0:17)

Episode 3 | With: Zosia Mamet, Elliot Page

Blue sky, orange autumn trees, Claire in a green jacket and Shawna (Elliot Page) in a black cap. They kiss in the park and Claire cannot stop smiling. Barely a quarter of a minute, no nudity, kept because the chemistry is so easy.

What I Left Out

I kept this page to scenes that are worth watching and that belong on Scandal Planet. I skipped short underwear-only cuts of May Hong, a 15-second kiss between Margot and DeDe from later episodes, and a Claudia Logan burlesque clip where the performer is uncredited and the age is unclear. I also left out the 1993 PBS Tales of the City (Chloe Webb, Barbara Garrick’s earlier run) so this hub stays on the 2019 Netflix miniseries only. Any source clip that mixed in the wrong characters was dropped.
